Post-Construction Excellence: Inside a 13,543 sq. ft. Commercial Turnover

Updated: Jan 21

There’s a unique satisfaction in transforming a newly built facility still carrying the remnants of construction into a clean, polished, and fully prepared space. This recent 13,543 sq. ft. post-construction project showcased the precision, structure, and specialized training required to deliver a flawless commercial turnover.

A Two-Phase Cleaning Approach Built for Precision

Post-construction cleaning requires more than general janitorial techniques. It demands a systematic, layered approach to ensure every inch of the new structure is addressed.

Phase 1 – Rough Clean

The project began with a comprehensive removal of all construction-related traces:

Heavy and fine dust

Adhesive marks and paint overspray

Stickers, labels, and protective films

Loose debris and leftover materials

Build-up on walls, doors, frames, baseboards, vents, and fixtures

This phase transitions the space from a construction site into a surface-ready environment for detailed finishing.

Phase 2 – Final Detailing

Once the structure was stabilized from dust and debris, the team performed meticulous final cleaning, including:

Polishing fixtures, stainless steel, and glass

Deep sanitization of all surfaces

Spot-free floors and streak-free presentation

Final touchups on trim, corners, and hard-to-reach areas

Every detail was executed to meet professional occupancy standards.

Crystal-Clear Window Restoration

Windows are often one of the most impacted elements during construction. This project required:

Removing all paint flecks

Eliminating adhesive and sticker residue

Cleaning interior and ground-level exterior glass without scratching

By restoring the clarity of every pane, natural light was allowed to highlight the clean, open layout of the new facility.

Safety-Driven Precision: OSHA + Aerial Lift Certified

This project included elevated fixtures, vents, beams, and high glass panels.

All elevated work was performed using aerial lift equipment operated by fully trained, OSHA-compliant, aerial lift–certified personnel.

These certifications ensured that the team could clean elevated areas efficiently and safely without compromising the structure or the team’s well-being.

Efficient Execution With a Skilled Crew

The entire project spanning 13,543 sq. ft. was completed in approximately 3.5 days by a six-person team.

The combination of coordinated workflow, technical skill, and experience allowed for a fast turnaround without sacrificing accuracy or detail.

A Clean Start for a New Space

From the initial dust removal to the final polishing of the last window, this project demonstrated the level of care and precision required to bring a new commercial building to life.

Executing both phases seamlessly ensured the space was left spotless, refined, and fully prepared for opening day exactly as a new build deserves.
